I made the mistake of upgrading my ubuntu from 12.04 to 12.10, and my chromebook C7's performance rapidly disintegrated. I am now looking to restore my C7 back to factory settings and start over with ubuntu 12.04
I am a dunce with computers. Can this be easily done?
Thank you.

Did you create a recovery usb from ChromeOS before installing ubuntu? You could use that to go back to factory settings.

Regarding starting over from 12.04, when you upgraded to 12.10, that brought with it a new version of the X-server -- a version that some video drivers can't handle. IF that was part of the problem, you need to know that 12.04.2 upgraded to the same X-server version; so when you go back, make sure it is to 12.04.1.
You can get that from the following link: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/

Thanks for the advice. I did NOT create a recovery USB. What do I do now?
