Hi,
Today i installed Ubuntu Studio Saucy Alpha ! Found out it comes with kernel version of 3.10.0-5 low latency, while my UStudio 13.04 was running 3.8- something-27!

I just want to find out what kernel version is coming with normal Ubuntu currently, as in Ubuntu 13.04 & Ubuntu Saucy Alpha!

& one more thing, is Ubuntu Studio Saucy using with Mir instead of Xorg?

I think the current kernel version on Raring is 3.8.0-27. At least, that's what's currently installed on my system on Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 and Mint 15.

Fedora 19 was released in July, me thinks.

Raring was released in April.

Saucy is still rolling along and is currently in the 3.11 series.(daily)

At this point I don't think the 3.12 series will be in Saucy, but we will roll quickly into it in Tubular Terrapin(made that up).

Doesn't matter when it was released and with what kernel, Fedora is almost like rolling even though it is supposed to be a static release,so chances are even Fedora 18 would have newer kernel than Ubuntu13.04 by now. I get feature updates every few days yet the system is very stable. Fedora is kind of amazing that way.

Sure. But not my point.
My point is that raring and fedora 19 were release months a part.

Yes, true Fedora19 came lot later than Raring!

I actually thought that the kernel versions get updated in *Buntu's at a similar pace, hence my curiosity when I found that Saucy came with 3.10 as opposed to 3.08 which was the last update in Raring (I am talking about Ubuntu Studio, hence lowlatency kernel!)

Yep, Fedora is kind of enviously stable, though I could not make my favourite app to work in their Spin Jam(which didn't come with any RT or Preemptive Kernel, strange for a audio Spin), but am thinking of trying their KDE Spin as my regular OS, keeping Ubuntu Studio for my audio work!

No issues over the Kernel versions though, my favourite is Still Wheezy which uses 3.4 -something and is amazingly stable with Gnome 3.4.2!
