I've been trying to write a log-off script that presents the student user with a clean desktop at login. Frequently after I run my script the LXPanel will be missing entries in it's menu. Run and Logout exist but the rest are gone (Accessories, Education, Games, Graphics, etc).
What I have noticed is rebooting my computer or even clicking run and then cancelling the run is enough to fix the problem. It appears to me that the LXPanel has to be "refreshed." How can I either avoid this or manually force it to "refresh" on login.
Something like "lxpanelctl restart" does not work. If I log into the student user and it is messed up I can click run and cancel to fix it. Then in the terminal if I run this command it goes back to how it was before clicking run and cancel.
