Core Storage in Ubuntu Raring?

Does anybody know if it is possible to build a Core Storage volume in Ubuntu mixing ans SSD with a conventional HD?

It appears that "Core Storage volume" is a Mac thing, so I doubt if you can do that in Linux. It might be similar to LVM. I can't imagine why you would want to combine an SSD with a hard drive, but it's probably possible.
