Hello all,

I tried to search the forum for a solution to my problem, but to no avail.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 (newer versions don't support the graphic adapter of my laptop). I tried to install the Lightning 1.9 calendar add-on for Thunderbird through the Software Center. It seemingly got installed, but in Thunderbird 17 it always said that it'll be enabled on the next restart, but that never changed.

At some place I found a suggestion to try the Thunderbird beta archive (ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-next). So through that archive, I installed Thunderbird 23, and what was supposed to be Lightning 2.3. Now, the Thunderbird add-ons manager shows Lightning 1.9, permanently disabled, without even an option to enable it.

Anyone has any suggestion as to how to solve this issue?

thanxx

You could try THIS (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/lightning/)

That's how I've installed Lightning. Never tried it through the software center.
