View Full Version : [ubuntu] 12.04 gnome always suspends when lid gets closed

Hi all.

As anticipated in the title, I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and Gnome 2 as DE. My laptop is an Asus 1000HE netbook.
Suddenly Gnome doesn't respect anymore my 'do nothing when lid is closed' preference, and it chooses to suspend every time I closed the lid. The weird this is that there were no problems till 1 month ago (more or less).
Running Unity instead of Gnome my preference get honored, and the laptop stays powered on when I close the lid. So I think it's a Gnome fault.

I found some bugs reported (like this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1180513 ), but no solution. Also, reckoning I didn't have this bug previously, I'm pretty sure there's a way to get back the right behaviour.

What do you think about this? Could this be a regression caused by an update? How can I revert the previous (and correct) behaviour?

thanks in advance for your help.

Ciao
