I am using Ubuntu 11.04 on my Aspire One D257-13478. Intel Atom Processor , 1 GB Ram. Yesterday I was trying to setup OpenVpn in my netbook.
I put this command in my terminal
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn-gnome
and along with that I got notification that some applications are about to be updated. After the completion of the install, I rebooted. The Login screen had changed, and in the environment I had three options, Ubuntu Netbook remix, Recovery mode and "User Defined". In the User defined mode, only the guake terminal worked. So I installed fluxbox but it was not getting connected to internet. Again I went back to User Defined session and I installed the following packages
gnome-shell, gnome-session, gdm, compiz, compiz-core, metacity
Even after that the gnome session is not functioning properly. The themes are not getting changed. I saw some posts in askubuntu.com and I was able to change the themes but it is not getting applied to nautilus , the them changes happens only for window decoration and the desktop panels.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
