I know it is Iceweasal, in Debian.

Version 22 in Xubuntu, I forget with Debian,

Same machine different partitions.

I have the same extensions,

I clear the history, cookies and cache the same

Same cookies I think, not sure about LSO's are they called, those longterm sticky cookies.

I have a lot more bookmarks in Xubuntu, but so what.

Same preferences and security settings.

So, what might be the difference?

I am off to bed, so thanks for any responses.

Thanks.

Most likely how the OSes handle the two browsers, that is most likely why. Sometimes one version will handle something differently and not as fast as another.

Which install is older too? your Xubuntu, or Debian, one of them could be suffering from a bit of bloat. (Debian I hear for the most part is lighter.)

Thanks,

Xubuntu 12.04 is the older of the two.

Then that is what happen. Basically it is just having a bit of bloat. This could be from just having certain other programs you do not really need on there and such. Debian you build and put into it a lot of the stuff you use, and nothing else, so it is just is not bloated. Xubuntu you do the same, but it already has plenty on itself.
