I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 dual boot with Windows XP, I'm using gedit as my editor, when I drag the geditor icon from dash to my desktop, everything works fine untill I need to change file with root access, so I went back to the desktop launcher, in the property changed the command to sudo gedit %U, I'm afraid this is not the right way to do it, when I clicked the icon, nothing happens. What's the right way to change the launcher to have root access? I've been using Linux on and off for sometime, so not that familiar with it, thinking in installing VirtualBox to run XP.
