Hi all,
Can I take a 16 gb thumb disk and split it in 4 gb each will it be able to use all 4 partition?

For Linux yes.
As I understand Windows only sees the first partition, so you need that to be NTFS (or FAT32) for use with Windows computers.
I have mulitple partitions on my 16GB flash drive. I have a full install in 8GB and use the remaining 8GB as a data partition.
