Installation of Ubuntu (12.04 or 13.04) - only base system

Hi!

First of all, sorry if this topic already exists - but I wasnt able to find it.

Id like to install Ubuntu (either LTS or latest), but from Debian Im used to install only the core system and add only what I need later. Is there a way to do it with Ubuntu? With some installation parameter or maybe by using the server edition?
