I'm writing a script to secure Ubuntu and am looking for suggestions. I plan to release it under the GPL and don't plan to spend much time on it other than updating it from time to time based on what I consider to be Ubuntu's flaws. If you have suggestions, please make them along with the reason your suggested what you did. I will be releasing the script in another thread once a fair number of suggestions have been made that don't jeopardize usability too much. Currently it does the following: uninstalls the shopping lens (as it is spyware by definition because it sends search results to canonical), Sets every user's home folder to 750 (so it's only accessible by the user themselves)

I'm working on removing the recent items but haven't found a way to do it from terminal yet.

It would be easier to install Debian. :)
