12.04 upgrade failure

Hmmm...tried to update to 12.04 this morning and the upgrade stuck unpacking debconf. On reboot it is now impossible to access Ubuntu (dual boot with windows). Will this be fixed if I simply download the iso using windows and install from a boot cd?

Try Ubuntu recovery mode from Grub-Menu... you will be presented with a simple GUI, look for dpkg and run it. Tell us if it helps.

Complete reinstall from CD did the business. Chuck everything in dropbox before you upgrade in order to lose everything.

Lets hope this distro is more stable...
