So I know this is a rather odd question and i also tired google with no luck. I have Ubuntu server on a desktop pc that I am about to give away to someone rather non techie and ran in to a bit of an issue. The user who is about to get this desktop is also new to linux but really seemed to enjoy working on my notebook which has Cinnamon installed on it. Now I know i can just do the full normal ubuntu/Gnome desktop install then install Cinnamon but i really was hoping to be able to skip that step and only use cinnamon.

also i tired This (http://askubuntu.com/questions/132270/how-do-i-install-cinnamon-on-ubuntu-server) link and for me it would tell me xserver-org-core was not found.

any help is greatly appreciated

There is a typo in that post. The package is called xserver-xorg-core.
