View Full Version : [lubuntu] GUI for ubuntu server 64

Hi mates, am trying to install a gui for my ubuntu server 64, so that i can install webmin, to monitor and manage the squid proxy, but i encouter, problems whilst doing it., i used

apt-get install xorg gnome-core gdm gnome-applets gnome-system-tools gnome-utils ubuntu-artwork compiz-gnome firefox sysv-rc-conf and


sudo apt-get install ubuntu desktop, but nothing seem to work, is there a way around it?

The whole point of using webmin is so that you don't need to install a GUI on your server.

hi cheesemill, how will i deploy the webmin in the server and yet i dnt have a browser?

You install webmin on the server, and then use a browser on another computer to connect to the server.
