Hi

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 on 64-bit machine with Gnome 3.4.2

I am trying to install KDE using the following commands

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

However here is what I am getting

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
kubuntu-desktop : Depends: xorg but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I checked xorg and it is installed in its latest version. Any idea why installing KDE installtion is failing ?

Here is a listing of my /etc/apt/sources.list

Try running these commands one at a time:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
And try again.

I think, but I'm not sure, that it's enough to install "kde-workspace"
