windows 8 & ubuntu 8 boot problem

I disabled the secure boot from windows 8 & did partition for ubuntu 13.04 & installed it. when it didn't boot I then used a boot repair disk. In order to boot to ubuntu I must hit escape then efi & follow the prompts. Is there any other way to fix this?
