Windows installs from the DVD, you need to boot from that for the windows setup to run.

you may have a partition with W7 for system recovery .
See recovery from start up screen ( half way down ish)

How do I boot windows 7? I only have a pirated copy of it but I will activate it later with my laptop's code..

You should not use such copies. They could easily contain malicious code. You may actually be able to borrow a copy. And it's likely you will need to phone microsoft to explain all this when you come to activate.

It's also possible that you could get recovery media from your machine vendor.

If you were in the UK I might be able to help but otherwise you should IMO seek a proper DVD from a friend. But not many people have them as most machines are pre-installed. And I'm sure it will need to be the version you have Eg: windows 7 ultimate or windows 7 home premium or whatever... 32 or 64 bit
