Hi, I'm having lots of problems trying to install xubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop. When I try to install directly from the DVD it says "The system has found an irrecoverable error", so I restart the PC, remove the DVD and then put it back on. On the second try I first select the option "Try Xubuntu" and remove the ubiquity-slideshow, then I click on "Install Xubuntu" option on the desktop but now when I am installing after this screen:

When I click on Continue it takes me to a screen when I have to select an image and it turns my laptop camera on, but then before I can do anything the installer Window sudenly disapears without warning.

Can anyone help me??

Did you check the .iso file you're using against the listed md5sum values at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes?

Yes, it matches the MD5 value

EDIT: I also tried checking the burnt DVD agains the ISO file and there are no errors. So that can't be the problem

Ok I assume there was something wrong with the xUbuntu 12.04-2 LTS release. I just tried installing the 13.04 and it went perfect. Problem solved
