Hi, I have never downloaded an OS or burned a bootable ISO or even created a windows system image.

I have been buying my Linux distros but would like to learn how to create a bootable DVD-R. for Ubuntu 13.04 32bit

Step by step please. thanks

Also wondered when replys are added to existing posts does this bump them into the latest posts.

You can download Ubuntu from the web site here...
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Links to instructions for burning the download to a CD are on the same page.

First off, 12.04 is too large to fit on a "CD". So, trying to burn a CD is fruitless.

Second, I've tried myself to burn a DVD of it, and every time, the DVD gets rejected and the burning program says it's the wrong medium. It wants a CD, but as I said, CDs are way too small.

I've ended up creating a USB instead -- but that doesn't solve the DVD problem.

And, before you asking, yes I know how to burn DVDs, as I have them of other 13.04-type Linux distros (i.e., Mint 15).
