Hello,
I am new to Ubuntu. I was trying install Ocelot(to run CUDA simulations without a GPU) and was following these instructions(https://www.udacity.com/wiki/cs344/llvm_ocelot_dev). There was a power cut here and since my laptop does not have a battery the installation got interrupted. The next time I tried to log in, the panel was missing. I could not see anything other than the desktop wallpaper. I updated the version from 12.10 to the latest version using ctrl+alt+f1 shortkeys. I tried several solutions already posted in various forums without any result.
Please help

first you said "ocelot" (11.10), then you said "12.10" : quite confusing. Ocelot is now not maintained (too old)

Please don't create multiple threads for the same problem.

It dilutes community effort to help you and others and creates more work for staff.

@dino99: I meant gpuocelot. It is a package that I had to install. The version that I had was 12.10 only.
@matt_symes: I wanted to delete the first thread as I had posted that under the wrong column but did not know how to. Hence the new thread. Sorry.
