Looking for the most detailed and exhaustive encyclopedia on the net (membership should be cheap), that covers everything as much as possible to know about a topic, on subjects related to science, medicine, religion, etc. Anyone know of good heavy encyclopedias?

Don't think you will find a single source that does everything.

For more specialist stuff you would have to sign up to research publication sites etc.

Good sensible question.

Something a tutor on a course I was on a couple of years ago pointed out is that some online encyclopedias are better than others. This might seem obvious, but the quality of information can vary a lot, particularly since almost anyone can set themselves up as an expert these days.
