Hello! I turned to Nautilus as file manager on Xubuntu following the instruction in this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2151202&page=2), but actually I have a blue desktop background and I can set no image as wallpaper. Right-clicking and set wallpaper opens no window :(

anyone can help me?

Wallpapers are stored in usr ->share -> xfce4 -> backdrops. You can move favorite downloaded wallpaper images there (you need root access), and then use the regular right-click -> Desktop Settings procedure to change your wallpaper. Some file managers insist on managing your desktop for you, lol.
