After some reading on the Ubuntu Linux website I found this (https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2006-April/000064.html) link. The document refers to a 'feature specification list' which makes it easy for people who are interested and working on 'Edgy Eft' to keep track of progress.

The feature specification list can be found here (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs).

Looks promising, one thing I really like is how they are going to try and make scripts like easyubuntu and automatix apart of ubuntu. But I wounder how they will accomplish integrating things like dvd codecs when it is illegal in Meany places to use without playing a fee.

The feature specification list you link to contains all Ubuntu specs so not only Edgy's specs.

There's now a sticky in the Edgy Eft section containing links to the release schedule and goals :

"scripts like easyubuntu and automatix apart of ubuntu"

i think adding a tweak to synaptic is a better option than integrating these scripts, at the end of the day people are only using these scripts cos they can be bothered adding the plf and multiverse and universe repos,

once they are added its simple to add all the stuff easy ubuntu and automatix add.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I can't find the thread and I'm not going to start a new one just to say:

WTF is an Eft?

Ok, so I find out it's a small newt. It was bad enough convincing people that a drake was a duck, not a dragon. Gawd knows what they'll make of an eft.

Couldn't it be an eagle or something? Soaring high above the vista (for want of a better word... ;) )
