Since I've upgraded from 11.04 ( using CUPS 1.4.x ) to 12.04 LTS ( using CUPS 1.5.x ), the printer -Lexmark x340 - does not works properely. The printer connect directly to the laptop, via USB.
Config. tried : driver = foomatic... ( recommended ), than tried with all available drivers at the printer setup ( e.g. gutenprint, or lj4, etc. )
It prints fine the first document, than the next prints will be empty pages with randomly generated textual headers, or with other scrambled content.
This can be cleared by the power off-on of the printer only.
I tried the Ubuntu 13.04 ( using CUPS 1.6.x ) too. Same annoying result...
The difference between the 3 tests ( Ubuntu 10.10/11.04 ; Ubuntu 12.04; Ubuntu 13.04 ) beside the OS version, is the CUPS version.
What is this so significant difference between CUPSs ?( step back...).
Can I revert the CUPS to older version ? ( How )
Or can be fixed the actual one (1.5.x) ?
Thanks in advance.
