Hello,

I am running ubuntu 12.04 with unity on my laptop. I transport my laptop with me and connect to a 1920x1080 screen via HDMI at work (which is much larger than the resolution of my laptop). When I set the background (this is happening with both the pre-installed wallpapers, and custom ones) the backgrounds set perfectly for each monitor. However, if I set the background, and then restart the laptop, when I come back to the desktop the background on my secondary monitor is streched/pixelated, almost as if it is taking the resized background for the smaller laptop monitor, and then strecthing that rather than using the 1080p image file that I used to begin with.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any possible fix?

if I said I am Canadian, would I get in any less trouble for this bump?
