Hi folks, Im looking to run up a basic Xserver for example just running "xinit" to get an xterm and then using rdesktop to connect to a remote machine. I have no need for a desktop on the local machine.
I have 3 questions:
1. What is the best method generally to just get a Xserver up from the inital login console is xinit suitable or is there a better way.
2. How does one disable the automatic startup of the desktop (say gnome or unity) upon login?
3. When I open a rdesktop session from the xterm, it seems to be full screen, although this is ok, how do i terminate the session or get back to the xterm to CTRL-C?
Thank you
