Hello, I'm in the process of installing Ubuntu 12.04 OS from Windows XP, I was wondering about the security factor of this distro and if I would need another virus protection. I've read through a lot of the literature on Ubuntu stating that with its firewall and own protection system that there is no need of one and that if a system vulnerability does come about security updates are sent out for a quick download. I'm very excited in wanting to get started using Ubuntu and can't wait to be rid of Windows XP, since they will no longer supply anymore updates for it. I will be doing a total install of Ubuntu and uninstalling Windows on my computer is there any advice to share through my process? Thanks and looking forward to visiting with the forum and sharing my successes/non-successes to help others with similar problems.
