lubuntu has strange panel

my lubuntu compaq notebook has this weird panel instead of a desktop. please help.:confused:

Could you please post an image of your desktop?.

Also it would be useful to know what lubuntu release are you running and the hardware specifications of your computer, in a xterm, run:
lspci

[sudodus]

Maybe you have selected Lubuntu Netbook at the login screen. In that case you can log out (or reboot) and select another desktop session, for example the standard Lubuntu session.
