I have Ubuntu (12.04) dual booting alongside Windows 7. It's been working wonderfully up until today. I decided to upgrade the kernel. I went from 3.5.0-17-generic to 3.5.0-30-generic. The 3.5.0-17-generic was what came when I initially installed the secondary OS. I never touched the kernel until today.I rebooted and now my Wifi doesn't work, my external mouse doesn't work (touchpad works fine), and my wired internet doesn't work. I'm sure there are other things--but those stood out right away.I tried taking the old kernel as a Debian package, putting it on a USB flash drive and installed it like that--still no luck. I really would like to avoid having to reinstall all of this. Any ideas what to do?Thanks for any help in advance.

All I can do is make backups of my files
