View Full Version : [ubuntu] 12.04 upgrade failed - error: not a correct XFS inode.

I got the message that the version I have been running was no longer supported so I clicked the upgrade to 12.04 button. I took all of the defaults. On first boot it gave the messages

error: not a correct XFS inode.
error: you need to load the kernel first.

Press any key to continue.....

That dropped me to grub. I had a usb keyboard so I couldn't do much until I found an old keyboard to plug in.

Now it comes up to grub on boot. Boot normal and boot recovery give me those messages. Boot older version didn't do anything.

How do I get things pointed to the right place so I can boot again? I can generate a boot cd if needed.

Thanks for any help.

Dave
