Unity dash doesn't load after catalyst installation

On Ubuntu 13.04 after installing catalyst 13.3 beta 3 unity boots to the desktop but only shows the wallpaper. It is possible to right click and the menu works but nothing else is displayed.

Experimenting with beta versions of ANYTHING is a really bad idea -- unless you really know what you're doing -- which includes making an image backup in advance, so you can restore the prior state if stuff goes badly.

Did you make sure to REMOVE the prior drivers -- as the instructions mention several times?

Also, there are a number of diagnostic steps listed in the instructions -- did you try those before posting this?

[SOLVED] I had to downgrade the intel drivers to the previous version
