After upgrading from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04 the clock has been replaced by the word "Time"

even when the configuration says to show the clock

At first i thought it could be some old setting somewhere in my home directory, so i created a new account to test it but i have the same issues. Is there like a global Unity config file somewhere?
Any input is appreciatted.
