Hi there, so I switched over to Ubuntu some time ago and have been finding my feet in it and came across a problem after upgrading to 13.04 the other day. This isn't a huge issue, just something that it would be great to have sorted.
After updating whenever booting it'll show the screen so that I can enter the password for my encrypted SSD, I enter this then the screen just seems to turn to full static and I can't do anything.

I've found that I can boot absolutely fine if I load GRUB then load with the older kernel (3.5) instead of 3.8 through advanced settings which makes me think it's likely not so much a hardware issue. The computer is a Dell studio 1555, the specs of which are here (http://www.cnet.com/laptops/dell-studio-1555-15/4507-3121_7-33712907.html). I'd hazard a guess that it's a video card issue and on 12.10 I had tried to install drivers for it to no avail so just left them as default as it was all working fine.
