View Full Version : [SOLVED] Java 7 Package configuration: Stumped by 'graphic' in Terminal

Dear all,
I've only recently turned to Ubuntu 12.04 and am installing the updates in How-To-Ubuntus, 'Things to do after installing Ubuntu 12.04' (http://howtoubuntu.org/things-to-do-after-installing-ubuntu-12-04-precise-pangolin#.UYYvXKDztTN)

I've reached the Install Essentials part and the Terminal is now displaying what I think of as a graphic image...
242213

I've tried clicking on the java url and that doesn't work.
I've tried looking at that page separately and I don't see anything that helps.
This 'graphic' means I can't interact with the Terminal, and if I try to close it, it tells me I'll kill an ongoing process.

Can anyone help me, please?
If you can, please - please - talk to me like I'm a five year old. I can follow clear instruction but don't assume I have any background knowledge!

Many thanks to all who read this.

Ash

It's the same as navigating a dialog box in Windows, hit TAB to move the cursor and ENTER to select OK.

Thanks very much. It's housekeeping like that I'm still learning.
Much obliged.
