most recent version of Ubuntu that can be installed on a Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155?

Hello,
What is the most recent version of Ubuntu that I can install on a Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155?

The reason why I am asking this is because someone gave me this laptop (all stock components) and I tried installing Ubuntu 12.10 but the install DVD doesnt run. I was able to install Ubuntu 6.10 and it works fine nevertheless I want a more current version and saw online that this machine was only supported up to a certain version (which I dont know)

Could you tell us a little bit about the current hardware specs of that machine?

For what I can tell, it is around 2003, has a Celeron (P3) with just 512MB RAM. Is that so?

In that case you need strictly a 32bit version. IMHO, you'd be better off installing the lightest version of the family: Lubuntu (http://lubuntu.net/).
