Ubuntu installation on windows 7

Hi all,
Am very new in Ubuntu, want to start migrating to the new life with UBUNTU.
before i migrate full, would like to get familiar with the UBUNTU functionality therefore i want to install the ubuntu desktop into windows 7, does this possible will not affect the existing windows 7?

please assist if there is any possibilities doing this.

In order to give good advice, we need to know more about your computer and how Windows is installed.

- Please specify desktop/laptop/netbook, cpu, ram, graphics chip/card

- Is Windows installed with UEFI?

Have you downloaded any Ubuntu iso file yet? If not, wait for advice, till we know the computer specs!
