I have reinstalled the Ubuntu 12.04 64bit version on my PC. After the installation I installed the current version of the NVIDIA driver. But the PC's was freezing all the time without any reason (the CPU load is low and there is enough memory!). I could not even get into terminal mode (CTRL + ALT + F2) anymore. After the PC froze again I had to reboot the hard way but now at the beginning I receive the following selection :

Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-40-generic
Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-40-generic (recovery mode)
Previous Linux versions
Memory test (memtest86+)
Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)

When I choose 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-40-generic' the Computer reboots and this dialog shows up again????

which graphic card is it ?
to open the terminal, try : ctrl+alt+t
you should boot using "recovery mode" to be able to fix this issue

The graphik card is: NVIDIA GeForce gt 9500
CTRL + ALT + T is just to open a terminal which does not work anyway when the whole screen freezes... So I tried to switch into Terminal mode via CTRL+ALT+F2 but didn't work either...

I tried also to select recovery mode but the computer rebooted again and I still see the select box again??
