View Full Version : [xubuntu] New installation, every other boot fails

I just installed the latest xubuntu fresh from the live cd after being a long time ubuntu user. Every other time I boot up, I get a screen of text showing wlan0 and eth0 being activated ending with the text "eth0 becomes ready". Boot hangs at this point and I have to hard stop my machine (ctrl+alt+delete causes xubuntu to attempt to shut down but it never actually shuts down). The next time I boot up it's usually fine. I've googled around and haven't seen anything along these lines, so I thought I'd post here and see if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Also, I've tried disabling ipv6 but it hasn't seemed to help.

Bump. Anyone else experience this? Switching to a different TTY session allows me to log in but the system becomes unresponsive or starts to shut down shortly after. The shutdown process never completes and I have to hard stop the computer.
