Hi, I am trying to install Ubuntu 13.04 on an HP Compaq cq58 laptop that has windows 8 pre-installed. I created a live cd and a live usb but neither of them boots (they work fine in my other laptop). I tried to boot with secure boot enabled, secure boot disabled and legacy boot disabled and finally with legacy boot enabled. I have also edited the boot order from bios. In all cases I get a black screen with the message "Press Esc to Enter boot menu" and when I press Esc I get a message that says that boot is paused. Then nothing happens. Thanks in advance, George.
