Sorry if this is not posted in the right place.

Currently, Java (or maybe SL4A) is best for Android apps.
What will be needed to write apps for Ubuntu smartphones?

I see references to QML (based on Java-Script), Gstreamer (Python I guess), Ubuntu SDK (which I assume is completely different than Android SDK.
Android is based on Java, anybody have a guess what programming languages will be most useful on smart phones in the future, say next year?

Smartphones in general? Or ubuntu on a smartphone? You really should book mark this page.

http://developer.ubuntu.com/

Check out resources and then Programming Languages. Get the right information from the right place.

Regards.

Thanks for the tip, lot of useful info on the Ubuntu developer site.
Looks like QML will be the tool for Ubuntu mobile apps.
