reverting to Ubuntu 11.10

Hi !
I have tried the Ubuntu versions 11.10, 12.04 LTS & 12.10
I was very happy with Ubuntu 11.10 (w.r.t. booting time, shutdown time, stability).
Formatted the disk & installed LUbuntu 12.10 i386 from iso cd image.
There is a great increase in boot time; Further, it often says that "system problem detected". :(
I wish to remove LUbuntu 12.10 LTS and revert to 11.10
I am aware that it is no longer supported.
If I install 11.10, whether I will be able to get software from the repositories?
Is there any great downside by shifting to 11.10 ?(apart from the non-availability of security updates & other updates).

No updates, no support. Not a good idea. I wonder why Lubuntu is slow on your machine. Whats your computer specs? What video card are you running?

Specs are : Intel P4, 768MB RAM, 500 GB HDD
For graphics card,
in command line, "sudo lspci | grep -i VGA"
gives me output ---
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200]

Are these specs below par for Lubuntu 12.10?

I recommend getting the latest LTS Ubuntu, actually Kubuntu, 12.04 would be good then get "Trinity Desktop". It's KDE done by a bunch of developers that are like me and hate what they did to KDE with this stupid "plasma" stuff. To me it's like they made it as unproductive and confusing to the user as it can be.

Now you have the support and upgrades to Linux and can use things like you used to. It's great!

BTW, I have a .iso image for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (32-bit) (NOT Kubuntu) ready (downloaded 6 months ago).
Will that do? or should I re-download it?

Recommending Ubuntu and Kubuntu is not good advice. They are simply too demanding for this old iron.

You could wait a day or two and install Lubuntu 13.04. Better to troubleshoot this one (or another light distro like Peppermint or Bodhi) than installing the heaviest of them all.

hmmm.... a light distro might prove useful. I should try a light version.
