Hi, I'd like to install Ubuntu on a 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro, model 9,2. However, I'm unclear as to exactly how well the Mac is supported. It seems like if I use the "Mac Version" of the AMD64 image, then the system will have to boot in BIOS emulation. Yet, apparently with rEFIt there is an option for EFI booting as well. Not only that, but none of the guides I have read online about installing Ubuntu to a Mac mention anything about needing a special Mac version of the installer. I'm not entirely clear on what version I need and whether rEFIt is really needed. I assumed that I should be able to simply hold the Option key at boot and select the other partition with Ubuntu on it, but it seems this is not the case.
