View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to un-schedule Update Manager?

I'm new to the world of Ubuntu.
I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) installed on my desktop.
Very often just after the start-up, the Update Manager is launched automatically and it is annoying because I want it to appear only when I launch it manually.
Could anybody advise me what should I do to remove the Update Manager from the launching schedule?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

You can launch update manager, click 'Settings' then set it to check for updates once a week or never (from memory, haven't used 10.04 LTS for awhile). Think you can also get there via Software Sources. It's under the 'Update' tab.

Just a note; 10.04 reaches end-of-life at the end of the month (25th I think) so now might be a good time to move to 12.04 LTS through an upgrade via the Update Manager or a clean install.
