I am looking for a linux compatible preferably open source application to do quantity take offs from construction plans. Seems I'll be doing a lot of them from now on, and I really don't want to go back to Microsoft to do this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

How do you perform this task currently? What format are your plans? If you can output to an xml (text file with tags) file, then you could write a script to go through the file and generate a materials schedule.
