Launcher icons low quality

Hello, i just installed ubuntu 12.10 and i've noticed that the launcher icons are very low quality. The weird thing is that if i put one of the icons on the desktop it becomes high quality.
Im using the default ubuntu desktop environment, any help would be appreciated. ive also attached a screenshot.241299

They'll never look quite the same due to the backlight & or edge illumination.
What you can check is if you've resized the launcher icon size - do Not use an odd number, odd numbers produce soft icons, even numbers are sharper.

thanks, changing the icon size to an even number fixed it
