Penn Manor School District is my school district and blog. I'd be happy to answer questions about our high school 1:1 student laptop program. We're really excited to launch the project. Over the past few years, my team has deployed Ubuntu across approximately 1600 student laptops and desktops. The 1:1 laptop program is planned for January 2013 and will include an additional 1700 high school laptops. The inherent stability of Ubuntu helps us keep support costs affordable.

Ubermix is a great distribution for education and includes a killer recovery feature. We plan to use it as a base with the Unity shell.
