GD2 Library & PHP5

I'm getting ready to set up LAMP in my Dapper Gnome. At this point thinking of making the plunge to PHP5. As I understand it, PHP5 is the default for LAMP installations now. Quick question, is the GD2 Library included in the basic PHP5 build?

Not sure if it is, but if it's not, it's simple enough to install...

apt-get install php5-gd

and you're away.

i am using a class that has worked on php4 windows / linux. i have php5 installd and there is no (at present) package for gd2 in php5. none that the CLI can find, or the package manager. any ideas?
