Hello everyone:

I have an HP Slate 2 (A6M60AA#ABE) with the touchscreen crashed, so I am trying to install ubuntu on it to recycle it into my new xbmc media center.

The little I could find about installing ubunto into Slate2 told me to install alternate version of ubuntu, so I dowloaded the 12.04.2 32Bit alternate version (64bits would not let me install it as detects the atom processor as not 64bit capable) and made a bootable usb stick with Universal USB Installer 1.9.3.1 for windows.

If I use the default installation option of the menu, the sistem completly freezes after a 2 or 3 seconds (the led on my usb stick stops flashing, and the sistem not responds even to CTRL+ALT+F1..F6)
if I edit the line and take out the options the "silence--" and "VGA=778" it shows more information, but also, after 2 or 3 seconds of that the screen freezes and the system not responds... the last lines show thar message:

I've also tryed with the nomodeset as i read on other post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1967403) on this forum, with no success.

I would apreciate any kind of help with that and let me apologize for my english languaje.

Thanks in advance for wasting your time with me.
