I'm a beginner in ubuntu with out much experience in it. I wanted to create a dual boot with windows 8 and ubuntu 12.10. I had 4 partitions in my harddrive + a system recovery drive. I created some 18 GB of unallocated space to create / ; /boot and swap drives from it. I made a bootable USB using RUFUS , and when I clicked something else during installation - it didn't detect any of my partitions and it said no OS is installed.
Pls help me. I wanted UBUNTU so badly . But I can't erase my entire harddisk during the procedure. Iss there any other method to solve this issue with out causing problems to existing partitions ????? {And pls answer me in simple steps - as I'm not familiar with technical terms and procedures in UBUNTU }
